Pilates & Me

Hi my name is Cath, I set up CCPilates in 2012 in Kentish Town. I discovered Pilates after being diagnosed with prolapsed discs in my lumbar spine, the prognosis was either surgery or help myself. I chose to try the latter, to rehabilitate myself with the help of gentle Pilates exercises, relaxation and meditation. A year later an MRI scan revealed a significant reduction in the prolapsed discs and surgery was no longer necessary.

Once well on the road to recovery, following the advice of my Neuro Surgeon and Osteopath I decided to begin to change my working lifestyle. Having suffered back pain for many years whilst working in very stressfull roles in Marketing and graphics, I decided to train to become a Pilates teacher, knowing that the method really can help with many types of injuries and medical conditions, as well as stress and anxiety for people at any stage of life.

Now as a fully qualified Body Control Pilates teacher I am continually learning and searching for answers, regularly attending workshops, seminars and classes to deepen my knowledge of the method and keep up with developments in the Pilates and exercise world. My current qualifications are listed below.

I currently teach small group classes in Kentish Town, private clients across North London and Pilates Holidays with Flavours Holidays.
